Our Story
A Quiet Space for Financial Learning
Sinar Wealth was founded to serve a group that had been largely overlooked — Singaporeans in their forties and beyond who wanted to understand their finances better but found most courses too fast, too technical, or aimed at a younger audience.
Back to HomeOur Beginning
Founded in Singapore, Built for This Stage of Life
Sinar Wealth opened its doors in Tanjong Pagar in 2018, after years of observing a gap that financial services rarely addressed directly. Singaporeans approaching their fifties and sixties often had decades of working experience and some financial history — but lacked the structured knowledge to make well-informed decisions about CPF withdrawals, portfolio allocation, or household planning for the years ahead.
The founders — two adult education specialists with backgrounds in financial planning and CPF advisory — decided to build a small, careful programme rather than a large commercial operation. The priority was quality of learning over scale of enrolment.
Since 2018, Sinar Wealth has hosted over two hundred participants across its three core courses. The format has not changed substantially: small cohorts, unhurried pacing, and instructors who treat questions as the core of the learning process rather than an interruption.
Our Mission
Financial Clarity, Earned at Your Own Pace
Our purpose is simple: to help adults in mid-to-later life understand the financial structures that shape their options — CPF, SRS, portfolio allocation, household budgeting — and to do so without pressure, without jargon, and without an agenda attached to product sales.
We believe that financial understanding should feel accessible, not intimidating. Many of our participants arrive with questions they have held for years but never had the right setting to explore. Our courses create that setting — structured enough to be productive, relaxed enough to be honest.
The name Sinar — meaning "ray of light" in Malay — reflects our intention: to offer a measured, clarifying experience to people navigating a consequential chapter of their financial lives.

Our Standards
How We Approach Quality
Instructor Qualifications
All instructors hold relevant professional credentials — CPF licensing, financial advisory accreditation, or formally recognised adult education qualifications from MAS or WSQ-registered bodies.
Independence from Product Sales
Sinar Wealth holds no affiliations with fund managers, insurance providers, or brokerage firms. Our income comes entirely from course fees. This independence shapes everything we teach.
Curriculum Review
Course materials are reviewed each semester against current CPF scheme parameters, MAS regulatory updates, and the latest HDB policy guidance. Workbooks are updated accordingly.
Participant Privacy
Portfolio details and financial information shared during courses are treated as private. No participant data is shared with third parties. We comply with Singapore's PDPA in all data handling.
Post-Course Support
Participants retain access to course notes and workbooks after completion. Instructors are available by email for clarifying questions related to course content for up to three months after enrolment.
Cohort Size Limits
Each cohort is capped at twelve participants. This limit is a deliberate commitment to the quality of discussion and the time instructors have to respond to individual questions.
About Our Expertise
Understanding Finances After Forty in Singapore
CPF is one of the most consequential financial structures in a Singaporean's working life — and yet its mechanics, particularly around Ordinary Account usage, Special Account top-ups, Retirement Sum tiers, and SRS coordination, are rarely taught in a setting designed for adults approaching retirement.
At Sinar Wealth, our instructors spend time on the questions that surface in real life: what a voluntary contribution to the CPF SA actually achieves, when HDB mortgage overpayments make sense against CPF opportunity cost, how dividend-focused portfolios behave under changing rate environments, and what a quarterly review of household finances should actually cover.
Our courses take seriously the idea that financial knowledge, applied thoughtfully at the right moment, has a lasting effect on quality of life. The decisions made between age forty and sixty — about CPF top-ups, SRS drawdown timing, portfolio rebalancing, and debt management — can shape the conditions of retirement in meaningful ways. We aim to equip participants with a clear, practical understanding of those decisions.
